Bannockburn’s first pre-season challenge has been announced, with senior players and coaches taking on the North Coast 500 (NC500).
Starting on 1st June, the team has just 30 days to complete the virtual 798-mile route.
Departing from Bannockburn, participants will run, walk or cycle Scotland’s answer to Route 66 – taking in Applecross, Durness and John O’Groats – before returning via Fortrose and Loch Ness.
Players will record activity with the help of fitness tracker Strava. The coaches have generously promised a case of beer for the best performer.
As well as keeping fitness up over summer, the team will be raising money for club members who have lost work or are unemployed due to the pandemic.
The pre-season challenge comes after Bannockburn RFC raised more than £600 for NHS Forth Valley through a series of sponsored exercises in April and May.
