Seniors head coach Jimmy Samuel was elected Director of Rugby at the 2020 AGM. Here, he gives us a brief summary of his plans for next season and beyond.
It’s a huge honour to have been voted in as Director of Rugby for Bannockburn Rugby Club.
I would like to begin by thanking Martin Kenny and the team who have built the foundations of this great club. I only hope to build upon them.
Firstly, I want to continue the success that our seniors team enjoyed last season. Because of the disruption caused by the pandemic, we’re again aiming for promotion into the Caledonian Midlands 2 league.
Participation and performance
Growing and improving participation and performance across all levels of the club – including juniors, seniors, coaches and volunteers – is high on my list of priorities.
I want to bring success to all our age groups, and that comes through increased participation and enhanced performance.
To do this, I want to strengthen the links we have already formed. By working in the community, in the club and with our partner clubs across Forth Valley, we can make it happen.
I’m looking forward to the challenge of the DOR role, and I can’t wait to get started with our new committee.
Jimmy Samuel, Director of Rugby
